Upvc Door Lock Experts

Like most locksmiths Lockkeys Locksmiths Great Sankey are working on upvc door locks nearly every day so over time you become a upvc door lock expert on these types of multipoint locks.

The locks are called multipoint locks simply because they have multiple locking points. Over the years working on these doors Lockkeys Locksmiths Great Sankey come across a number of main faults:

It will either be the multipoint lock itself that is at fault and you can check this by opening the door (where possible) and locking the door whilst its open if this works ok then you know the problem is not with the lock but with the alignment of the door with the keeps of the lock on the frame.

Alternatively the problem could be with the Euro Cylinder or the door handles if they are floppy. Whatever the problem give us a call on 07855 867422 and speak with Pam or Derek who can provide you with a no obligation quote based around your conversation with us.

Locked Doors Opened

Many customers believe that locksmiths in Great Sankey are dealing with emergency lock outs most of the time. This is a myth as most locksmiths only deal with the lock out situations for about 10 percent of the time.

At Lockkeys Locksmiths Great Sankey we are often asked by customers to open locked doors for them, because they have lost a key either outside or inside their property or on occasions we are asked to open a locked door and replace the lock because the key has been snapped inside the lock.

No matter why you need a locked door opening we can help, give Pam or Derek a call on 07855 867422 and we will provide you with a no obligation quote.

Locks Replaced & Upgraded

At Lockkeys Locksmiths Great Sankey we are often asked by customers about anti snap locks and the confusion that surrounds them simply because some manufacturers package their locks as anti snap when in fact they would not withstand a snapping attack.

So what are anti snap locks and what do they do ? There is a lock attack method used by thieves to snap the euro cylinder lock which then enables them to open the door and steal property.

To prevent this from happening customers should fit anti snap locks and the only cylinders in the UK that are actually made and designed to withstand a snapping attack is a 3 star euro cylinder as pictured above and of the 3 star euro cylinders a diamond grade is the highest standard.

Although some lock may be packaged as anti snap unless they are 3 star cylinders which can be seen by the british kite mark and 3 small stars on the cylinder itself they may not withstand a snapping attack.

At Lockkeys Locksmiths Great Sankey when asked for anti snap locks we only fit diamond grade euro cylinders to ensure our customers have the best protection from a anti snap euro cylinder.

For a no obligation quote contact Derek or Pam on 07855 867422 we can normally fit anti snap locks on the same day if during the week.

Locks Fitted

Many of our customers ask Lockkeys Locksmiths Great Sankey to fit locks for them. Now this could be fresh fitting extra locks on doors such as mortice locks on internal doors or upgrading the locks that they already have on their doors.

An example of this is when a customer needs to upgrade their locks to British Standard for insurance reasons or for example they are converting a wooden door to accept thumb-turn locks like above which can be used as dementia friendly locks as this type of lock does not require a key on the inside to lock the door meaning a loved one is unable to leave a key in the lock and so will not lock out relatives or carers accidentally.
